Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram (Unram) inaugurated the International Centre and SINO Education Centre on Monday (30/9), as a strategic step to increase international cooperation and expand access to education for students from various countries. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Vice Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems of Unram, Prof. Akmaluddin, S.T., M.Sc.(Eng.), Ph.D., along with university leaders, academic staff, and students.

On this occasion, Unram also accepted 9 international students who will take part in the Master by Research program. The nine students are from China and will take part in a 3-semester research program designed to improve their knowledge and skills in their respective fields, including Master of Management, Master of Education Administration, and Master of Economics.

‌

In his remarks, the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Akmaluddin conveyed to international students that Unram is committed to providing the best educational services for students.

‌

"Our university is committed to providing the highest quality education. We are committed to providing them with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to succeed in academic and professional pursuits. I believe that you have come to the right place," he said.

Furthermore, Akhmad Junaidi, M.A., Ph.D as the Chairman of the International Degree Program expressed his hope for the inauguration of the center.

"Today the center will be inaugurated where later more students will register at the University of Mataram, especially from countries targeted by the SINO Education Centre. We will run this program well. Hopefully we can still carry out all this," he said.

‌

Accepted international students will receive guidance from experienced lecturers by obtaining thesis assistants and academic assistants who have the opportunity to engage in a variety of innovative research. This Master by Research program is expected to produce research that has a positive impact not only at the local level but also internationally.

‌

In addition, the Director of the SINO Education Center, Dr. Ahmad Lani, M.Ed said that the center can be used for any type of student interest.

‌

"This office is only our contribution if there are guests or students from outside, we have a place for discussion or anything we want to talk about. For that to all students, related to your research, related to anything for your studies, please come to this office," he explained.

The inauguration ceremony ended with a tumpeng cutting and a group photo session between Unram and SINO Education Centre Malaysia, as well as international students who attended.
